Jon Funk has been directing investments in southern California startup companies for 26 years. He joined Allegis Capital - Media Technology Ventures in 1996. From 1985 to 1995, he served as a founding General Partner of InterVen Partners, a venture capital fund focusing on investing in startup technology companies, primarily in southern California. From 1981 to 1985, Mr. Funk was a principal with First Interstate Capital, the venture capital unit of First Interstate Bancorp.

At Allegis Capital, Mr. Funk's investments include Sandpiper Networks (acquired by Digital Island), Rent.com (acquired by Ebay), Shopzilla (acquired by E.W. Scripps) and Ideaforest (acquired by JoAnn Stores), all southern California companies.

Mr. Funk currently represents Allegis on the Boards of Staccato Communications and ClariPhy Communications. He received an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California as a Dean's List Scholar, and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
